Other Lithophane Projects

These are some of the other Lithophanes I have created. I will add to this page as and when I do more of them. I won't go into a lot of detail regarding their machining its just to give you an idea of what can be done.
This is my first full coloured Lithophane, I did it just to see if the idea would work.
It is simple to do, I just printed the original image at the same size as the Lithophane onto transparency inkjet film and placed it between the backlight and the Lithophane. The effect is quite remarkable. However in my opinion this approach would only suit some subjects. Probably good only for images that don't contain a lot of fine multi colour detail due to the colour spread through the Lithophane.

This was done by request from a friend to give to her mum as a Christmas present. It is of her three children and her sisters three children.
The final 3D cut was done with a 1mm Ball Nose 2 flute End Mill stepping at 10% per pass.
